Brazilian striker Jonas, who moved to Benfica two years ago from Valencia, extended his contract with the Portuguese club until 2019.
“I am very happy to be in the club that I am so well settled. I am happy here and it shows on the field,” said Jonas.
“I am proud to wear this shirt. I’m happy to extend the contract until 2019 and we want to continue to win trophies. I want to thank the fans for their affection and the club for believing in me.”
Jonas has scored nine goals in 16 matches this season, despite missing nearly four months due to ankle injury.
