Moscow. 29 Dec. INTERFAX – the Ukrainian Government has submitted to Parliament a bill that introduces the concept of “sexual orientation” and “gender identity.”
In particular, article 11 of the law “On employment of population” is requested to make the following addition: “the State guarantees the right to protection from all forms of discrimination in respect of employment on grounds of… gender identity, sexual orientation,” according to the Ukrainian Institute of religious freedom.
In addition, article 24-1 of the law “On advertising” should be reworded in the new edition: “it is Prohibited in advertising of vacancies (employment) to make demands on the grounds of… sexual orientation.”
In the explanatory Memorandum the government notes that the draft law was prepared pursuant to a series of EU directives.
Earlier, representatives of the Ukrainian Council of churches and religious organizations stated, including at the meeting with President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, about the danger of the introduction in legislation of the terms “sexual orientation” and “gender identity.” How, in particular, was declared Metropolitan of Kiev and all Ukraine Onufry, “such innovations can be the first step to the promotion in Ukraine of the homosexual lifestyle and attempts of legalization of same-sex unions”.
