Putin wished the Jews of Russia happiness and prosperity

Moscow. 28 Dec. INTERFAX – President Vladimir Putin met in the Kremlin with chief Rabbi of Russia Berl Lazar and President of the Federation of Jewish communities Alexander Boroda, to congratulate them in the face of all Russian Jews with Hanukkah.

He wished “all religions, all the Jews of the country the best in the New year.”

“I’m sure we all hope he will be happy and prosperous” – said Vladimir Putin.

He thanked Lazar and A. Beard for participation in the development of interreligious relations. “I know that you do a lot to development of relations with other faiths, you are constantly in touch on these issues,” – said Vladimir Putin.

The President also noted the active life of the Jewish community of Russia: “the development is very good, introduced a new synagogue, a new religious-cultural centres, for which I am very grateful.”

Putin expressed hope for continued collaboration with the leaders of the Jewish community.
