The Kremlin let the gas in Ankara: Erdogan gave the go-ahead “Turkish stream”

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has signed the law on ratification of the agreement with Russia on construction of the gas pipeline “Turkish stream”. The decree has been published on the official Internet resource of the state.

According to the document, partners will build two branches of the gas pipeline with a capacity of pumping at 31.5 billion cubic meters of gas. One branch will be extended under the Black sea to Turkey, another designed to transport gas to European countries, writes the”Russian conversation”.

“Turkish stream” has become a litmus test of relations between Moscow and Ankara. Agreement on its construction was signed on 1 December 2014. Then the country was planning to start construction soon, but first in Russia broke out in serious economic turmoil, and later there was a scandal with the shooting down of Russian aircraft on the border of Syria and Turkey. The destruction of a fighter for months froze the implementation of the project – the presidents of the demonstration could not “forgive” each other with mutual accusations.
