Manufacturer of confectionery products “Man delis Rus” (up to 2013 — Kraft Foods) sold a plant for the production of chocolate in Chudovo, Novgorod region. The buyer was a company SC Johnson, which produces household chemicals (brands, “Mr. Muscle”, “Duck”, Glade, Raid). This is stated in the message of the company “Man delis Rus”, which is at the RBC.
The plant became the property of the new owner. However, under the terms of the transaction “Man delis Rus” will rent the plant to the end of the third quarter of 2017. Due to this, the company will finish production at the plant and gradually transfer the equipment to other Russian plants.
The plant in Chudovo with a capacity of over 40 thousand tons of chocolate products per year was opened in 1997. The decision to sell was made in connection with the intention to improve the efficiency of investments in production facilities in Russia, presented in a press release, the words of the General Director of LLC “mon’delis Rus” Hossam Ashura.
Currently, more than 95% sold on the Russian market of the products produced in factories in Russia. In addition to the site in Chudovo is the factories in Veliky Novgorod, Pokrov, Sobinka, and Novosibirsk.
The transaction value was not disclosed. In the future, the profile of the plant is changed in accordance with the needs of the new owner, told RBC communications coordinator “Mon delise Rus” Andrey Samodin.
