LIMA, 20 Nov — RIA Novosti. The head of “Rosneft” Igor Sechin said that he knows nothing about selling another 10% stake in the company in 2017, management emanates from the current government regulation on the sale of 19.5% of the shares.
A source in the financial-economic bloc of the government in late October told journalists that the authorities do not rule out the privatization of an additional 10% of shares of “Rosneft” in 2017 and, consequently, reduce the state shareholding to 40%.
“I’m the Manager of the company, what decision will be made by the government — we are going to implement. While I haven’t heard about it. I haven’t heard about it at all. There is a government decree that guides us on the sale of 19.5%, no more official documents, I do not know” — said Sechin to the question whether it is advisable in 2017 to privatize 10% of “Rosneft”.
Speaking about whether Chinese companies have shown interest to participate in privatization, Sechin said: “China is a strategic partner, you know, and so we supplied 31 million tons of oil, build the plant, working with Beijing gas, working with Sinopec”.
In early November, the government published a Directive according to which Rosneftegaz has until December 5 to sell 19.5% of Rosneft shares at least 710,847 billion. Not later than December 15 to be completed calculations with the buyer, and before December 31 — the money from the transaction must be listed in the Federal budget.
