TASHKENT, 17 Dec – RIA Novosti. Polish Explorer Jacek, Palkiewicz, member of the Russian geographical society, started the practical training of the international expedition “the Great silk road-2017”, which will be held across seven countries – China, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus and Poland.
The great silk way is a transport artery linking China and the Mediterranean and had lost significance in the XIV century with the development of seafaring.
“It was the first year of project preparation, it is huge. Uzbekistan is the first country I visit in the framework of practical training expedition”, said Paskevich reporters at a press conference in Tashkent.
According to him, during the visit to Uzbekistan, he discussed the details of the project with representatives of the Uzbek authorities, the issues of logistics and service support of the project. After Uzbekistan, Paskevich will hold a meeting in Kazakhstan.
The traveler expects that the expedition will start in may next year in the Chinese XI’an, having more than 10 thousand kilometers through seven countries, completed two months later in Warsaw. The expedition, which will travel to seven or eight vehicles will include around twenty people – cameramen, journalists, photographers.
“A boy about six years old I already knew that I would be a traveler through books I etched forever in the memory of many geographical names and the Great silk road – one of them,” said the traveler.
According to him, in connection with the situation in the middle East had to be abandoned to follow the route of medieval traveler Marco Polo from the Mediterranean to China. Paskevich, said that currently negotiating with the Chinese, Polish and Russian companies that plan to sponsor the expedition.
The traveler noted that the driver of the expedition today is the initiative of China’s new economic development strategy of “One belt and one road”, announced in 2013 and is aimed at creating infrastructure and establishing ties between countries of Eurasia.
“This initiative was supported by Russia and Central Asian countries, as I know her interest to study in Poland because of the creation of such corridors to the benefit of all its participants”, — said Paskevich.
Paskevich, traveling the world for over 40 years. He went to sailing on merchant ships, worked in the gold mines in Ghana, looking for diamonds in Sierra Leone. In 1975 alone has overcome the Atlantic ocean on a lifeboat. In 1983 he founded the school of survival, cooperate in this sphere with the Russian cosmonaut training Center. In 1996, the international scientific expedition under the leadership of Pilkevich determined the exact location of the source of the Amazon.
