In the Stavropol archaeologists have found dozens of ancient tombs

Archaeologists in the reconstruction of the water channel on the boundary of the ipatovskaya and Trunovsky areas of the Stavropol region found dozens of ancient tombs from different periods, from early bronze age to the middle ages, according to the Ministry of property relations of the region.

“Currently, we investigated eight burial mounds where found dozens of burials of the early, middle and late bronze, early iron and middle ages, recorded the economic systems of the new time”, — stated in the message.

Under the barrows of the later period, the archaeologists found and opened ritual burial, which, according to preliminary estimates, is not less than 4.5 thousand years, it was found the human remains, fragments of dishes and ritual devices, according to the Agency.

“These mounds are especially interesting because in one place absolutely everything the nomadic period of our history, from the early bronze to the middle ages. The ancient ancestors of this place was chosen as a ritual and the cemetery was used as it all the new tribes that came here,” said the Ministry.

Of how valuable new finds, archaeologists say it is not in a hurry as have a thorough research of different profile experts, including paleontologists, anthropologists, zoologists, says the Ministry.

“On the basis of studies to be prepared a single report to send to Moscow Institute of archaeology. Found artifacts typical of the area and fit well into the overall concept of historical representations of this territory,” — said in the Ministry.
