CHISINAU, November 9 – RIA Novosti. The border police of Moldova has confirmed a ban on entry into the Republic of well-known Russian journalist, editor-in-chief of the magazine “national defense” Igor Korotchenko, said Wednesday in a press-Department service.
Earlier Korotchenko told RIA Novosti that he was denied entry to Moldova until 2030 and denied the opportunity to participate in the scheduled meetings with local politicians and experts.
“The border police confirms the fact that the Chisinau airport yesterday, November 8, after dinner, was denied entry to Moldova Russian citizen, because the national legal authorities imposed a ban on his entry to the Republic”, — reported in Pogranpolitsii.
As stressed in the Department, according to the current legislation of Moldova, the border police told Korotchenko about the grounds applied in his regard.
“Restrictions, a ban and deportation may be imposed and other agencies for various reasons. Information on restrictions on entry or crossing the country, imposed on a person, obtained on the basis of his statement. These data contain personal information,” added Pogranpolitsii, noting that other details of the incident can not provide.
Chisinau refused entry into the country a large group of Russian journalists, including the correspondent of RIA Novosti, Timur Kursantov, representatives of NTV, REN TV, Life News and other media.
