The court refused to release the top managers of “Renova”

On Wednesday, the investigator provided that new evidence, including the statement of the defendant in a criminal case against former leaders of the Komi Republic, the financier Damian Moskvina, who testified on wainzinher and Olkhovyk. These materials were attached to the petition of the investigator on the extension of the arrest of two top managers. The Prosecutor also supported the petition of the investigation.

Another wainzinher, the lawyer, Konstantin Rivkin, said that representatives of the Investigative Committee and Prosecutor General’s office did not provide evidence that top managers can abscond and that he had tried to influence witnesses.

“We started to testify. Whatever measure we will continue to cooperate with the investigation”, promised Vainziher. After that, the judge Karpov left to the consultative room for forty minutes to make a decision.

The advocates of the “Renova” has also provided the court a letter of guarantee for its top managers, but the Deposit was not disclosed.

Complaint To Putin

The prosecution of Olkhovyk and wainzinher began a few weeks after it erupted in August, the conflict around Vorkuta HPP, which belongs to “T Plus”. And on 5 September in the Moscow office of “Renova” and “T Plus” were searched. The representative of the Investigative Committee explained that the searches were carried out in the framework of criminal case about a multimillion-dollar bribes to the former management of Komi headed by Gaiser (in 2010-2015 led the Republic). The defendants in the case were olkhovyk, Vainzikher and the General Director of “VimpelCom” Mikhail Slobodin, who led the “T Plus” (at the time called IES holding) from 2002 to January 2011.

According to the investigation, for 2007-2014 are the former heads of Komi received from the defendants more than 800 million rubles of bribes for setting tariffs, best for “T Plus”. According to the source “Interfax”, the case of bribery of top managers of “T Plus” is one of the episodes of the criminal case against Geiser, who was arrested on fraud charges, is allocated in separate manufacture. Two days after the searches, the Investigative Committee of the Komi Republic opened a criminal case against the Olkhovyk, wainzinher and slobodina under part 5 of article 291 of the criminal code (“bribery in especially large size”). The first two after the announcement of the criminal case was arrested and transported from Moscow to Syktyvkar (in early October, they returned back to Moscow).

A third defendant in the case Slobodino was charged in absentia, because at that moment he was abroad. After claims he resigned from the post of head of “VimpelCom”. In a farewell letter to employees, he said that will “solve unexpected problems” how people have nothing to do with the company.

Help Vekselberg

A few days after the searches and arrests the owner of “Renova” Viktor Vekselberg said TASSthat the detained top managers will be given a lot of support. According to Vekselberg, “Renova” has prepared the materials “in sufficient detail to apprise the leadership of the country with the activities of “T Plus”, including on the territory of Komi Republic”. Then the press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov told RBC that Putin will give these materials “Renova”. But Putin’s meeting with Vekselberg “while there is no schedule,” Peskov said on September 13. But after a week, Reuters reported about the meeting Vekselberg with Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, citing a source close to the businessman. The owner of “Renova” wanted to discuss with Medvedev, including the situation with the criminal case against top managers of the group “Renova” and its energy “T Plus”, the source said. The fact of the meeting confirmed in the government, but the details are not specified.

At the end of September it became known that the criminal case against the Olkhovyk and wainzinher transferred to the Central office of the Ministry. They took control of the investigation of particularly important cases of the TFR, and then olkhovyk and Vajnziher was transferred back to Moscow.

In late October, “T Plus” and the government of the Komi Republic have agreed to cooperate to ensure reliable and cost effective electricity and heat supply of consumers of the Republic. The company, in particular, secured regulatory technical condition of the equipment Vorkuta CHPP, including investments in the amount of 1.7 billion rubles to 2019. And last week in the Moscow office of “Renova” Vekselberg and Gaplikov has signed a cooperation agreement between the company and the Republic of Komi. As stated in the document, special attention in the implementation of the agreement should be given to the measures for stabilisation and strengthening of energy and housing and communal complex of Komi Republic. The next day after that Vekselberg in an interview with RBC expressed the hope that “truth will prevail”. “I think we found a common language with the current leadership of the Republic… I hope that our investigative bodies will be done a professional job and they will understand”, stated the head of “Renova”.
