Due to poor third quarter results for the first nine months of the year, the supply of whiskey fell by 17.9%, to 14.7 million liters, Roma — 12.6%, to 2.5 million liters of wines — 5.9 percent, to 113.7 million liters, sparkling by 1.3% to 18.21 million liters, vermouth, and flavored wines 17%, to 6.85 million L.

The collapse of imports in the third quarter, market participants explain the fact that many importers have experienced in this period a shortage of excise stamps. From 1 July they had to get a brand new sample, but due to bureaucratic delays, the process of issuance only began in late summer.

As told the President the wine company Simple Maxim Kashirin, the majority of companies only in late September was able to consistently start to a new brand. In this regard, since July, when over the old mark, shipments began to fall in all categories.

According to the President “distribution Ladoga” Veniamin Grabar, the problem with excise stamps not purchased catastrophic scale of the market, but the situation “could not affect the statistics of import”. President wine group MBG Irina Fomina said that because of the failure of imports in August, the company in September brought to 125% of the products more than in September last year.

The Manager of one of the chains said that the situation in the least affected international companies Diageo, Bacardi, Pernod Ricard. According to him, these companies “not as big a range as from Russian importers,” so “they bought more old brand for its products and shape large drains, which helped them survive the third quarter without losses.”

As noted Kashirin, in the fourth quarter all major alcohol category needs to resume growth. Director tsifrra Vadim Drobiz considers that the results of the current year the import volumes will remain at last year’s level.
