MOSCOW, 26 Oct — RIA Novosti. The proportion of citizens who wish to emigrate from Russia to another country in recent years has not increased despite the sanctions and the economic crisis: now 11% of Russians say they wish to go abroad for permanent residence, in 2011, this figure remains at the level of 11-13%, it follows from the results of the poll.
The poll was conducted October 8-9, 2016 in 130 settlements of 46 Russian regions among 1,600 respondents. The statistical error does not exceed 3.5%.
According to the survey, 11% of Russians would like to leave for permanent residence abroad. However, only 7% of this number said they wanted to leave within the next few years, 13% within three to five years, half (51%) haven’t thought about it, and 18% thought but don’t know when this can happen.
“The economic crisis, sanctions policy and the other does not have any impact on the emigration moods of Russians: the growth is not fixed. The share of respondents expressing a desire to go abroad for permanent residence, from 2011 to 2016 ranges from no 13-11% (in 1991 it amounted to 16%). Most of them can not imagine when it is unable to carry out the move… the Majority of our fellow citizens today do not aspire to leave Russia (86%) and believe that their children and grandchildren to live better in our country than abroad (75%)”, — stated in the materials of VTSIOM.
Sociologists say that the majority of people who want to move (63%) not active in preparing for the implementation of the plan — they either said that do nothing to move abroad, or were undecided. Speaking about actions to take, 16% of respondents said that learning a foreign language, 15% — that saving your money for 4% of respondents reported finding employment or an appropriate educational program abroad.
According to sociologists, most Russians do not celebrate in the last couple of years increasing the flow of emigrating to other countries, including 21% believe that such people became less, and 33% that their number has not changed; the increase in the number of immigrants said 23% of respondents.
Every fifth Respondent (20%), based on the results of the survey have family members or friends who left the country in the last five years.
“Those who wish to emigrate, most often we hope for improvement of financial position (50%)… seems the Most attractive life in Germany, it tops the ranking of countries named among those where the respondents would like to leave”, — stated in the materials of VTSIOM.
Also among the reasons for going to another country, respondents called social stability (7%), dissatisfaction conducted in the Russian Federation policy (5%), a more suitable climate (4%), great opportunities for career development, business (3%), the opportunity to receive a quality education (2%); the same number of respondents (2%) referred to the fact that living abroad to their relatives.
On the second place among most attractive for relocation countries after Germany (12%) were the USA (7%), followed by France (5%), England (4%), Canada and Italy (3%).
