Three officers of the Russian center for reconciliation were wounded in the shelling by militants of humanitarian corridors in the district of El-Malark in Aleppo, reports RIA “Novosti” with reference to the statement of the Ministry of defense.
The Ministry added that officers delivered to the base Hamim, to their life threatens nothing.
The defense Ministry also announced that the militant group “Ahrar al-sham” publicly executed 14 members of local authorities of Eastern Aleppo for calling to leave this part of the city.
In Aleppo, 8:00 am on 20 October, has a “humanitarian pause”. It is designed to ensure that residents and fighters were able to leave the city, explained in Moscow. Initially, the break was to last for eight hours, then it was extended until 19:00. On 20 October the President of Russia Vladimir Putin instructed to extend the pause for another day.
Russian HQs in cooperation with the Syrian air force had ceased to strike in Aleppo on October 18. As said defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, it was necessary for the introduction of the “humanitarian pause”. He stressed that the cessation of air strikes would “guarantee the safety output on the six corridors of civilians and prepare for evacuation of sick and wounded from the Eastern part of Aleppo.”
On October 19 the presidents of Russia and France Vladimir Putin and Francois Hollande and German Chancellor Angela Merkel after the meeting “channel four” in Berlin discussed the situation in Syria and particularly in Aleppo. Speaking at a press conference following the meeting, Putin said that Moscow is ready to extend a pause in air strikes “as possible” until they are activated gangs.
The situation in Aleppo deteriorated after the breakdown of the ceasefire in Syria, agreed upon by Moscow and Washington on 9 September. Human rights defenders and activists reported an increase in number of air strikes on Aleppo.
Bloomberg, citing a draft decision of the EU summit on October 20-21, reported earlier that the European Union is to discuss imposing sanctions against Russia over action in Syria.
