The development of the project of the Russian-German gas pipeline “Nord stream” is the “creditsales” of EU energy policy, this was during a joint press conference with President of Finland Sauli Niinistö said the head of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaite, writes 15min.lt.
According to her, the project “Northern stream” and “Nord stream-2” are for Lithuania “geopolitical”, but “not purely commercial”. “Especially considering the fact who looks after them,” — said Grybauskaite. “For us it means only one thing — “creditization” energy policy of the European Union”, — said the Lithuanian leader, adding that, in her opinion, “this is a very bad message.”
In addition, Grybauskaite said that the gas pipeline project will mean the continuation of the energy dependence of the EU on Russia.
At the end of July this year, former German Chancellor Gerhard schröder headed the governing Board of the project company for the construction of the gas pipeline “Gazprom” on the bottom of the Baltic sea Nord Stream-2.
