In Greece, clashes broke out between police and migrants

MOSCOW, 17 Dec — RIA Novosti. Clashes between Greek police and migrants occurred on Sunday around the camp near Oraiokastro, reports AFP, citing a police source.

The police used stun grenades to disperse the protest rally, which was attended by dozens of migrants, the exact number is not reported. According to the Agency, migrants threw stones at law enforcement officers, burned trash cans. As reported by the source Agency, the police managed to restore order.

The protest at the camp migrants started after the accident with the participation of refugees from Syria. According to preliminary data, the passing car crushed a 35-year-old woman and her 10-year-old son from Syria, another boy was injured. An elderly Greek man, who was driving the car, was arrested.

Since the beginning of the migration crisis through Greece to Europe were about half a million of refugees and migrants. Since February of this year the so-called “Balkan route” migration was closed in Greece were blocked for 60 thousand people.
