The meeting of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister of India Narendra modi is in Goa, the two leaders began their meeting with a conversation in a narrow format, then the negotiations will continue with the participation of delegations of the two countries.
The negotiations ended with the signing of joint documents and a statement of the heads of state to the press, said press Secretary of Russian President Dmitry Peskov.
He said that in the night of Saturday, Putin, who went to India after the CSTO summit in Yerevan, had to land in Mumbai due to the fact that the venue of the Russian-Indian talks and BRICS summit was a thick fog.
“The President spent four hours in Mumbai and at the first opportunity, early in the morning flew to Goa”, — said Peskov.
The Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov previously told reporters that the outcome of the negotiations will be adopted a joint statement on the common approach at the regional and international agenda. One of the main topics of the talks between Putin and modi, he said, will be cooperation in nuclear energy.
In addition, leaders are expected to exchange views on international issues. Among the topics: the fight against terrorism, the situation in the middle East and North Africa, especially in Syria and Afghanistan.
Following the talks will be held the signing of joint documents, including a signed agreement to supply India’s air defense missile systems s-400 “Triumph”, the production in the interests of the Indian Navy frigates of project 11356, as well as the creation of a joint venture of India-Russia helicopter company for the production of KA-226T, according to the materials for the meeting.
