In Kiev held a March in the anniversary of the UPA

In Kiev activists of the Association “Freedom” marched from the Park of Taras Shevchenko to St. Michael’s square. It was timed to the 74th anniversary of banned in Russia Ukrainian insurgent army (UPA), UNIAN reports.

According to the Agency, the rally in the Park named after Taras Shevchenko gathered 1.5 thousand people. There they lined up in columns and marched on the agreed with the authorities route. Subsequently, the number of participants increased to 4 thousand, the Agency reports.

The participants of the “March of glory to the heroes” took place at the Shevchenko Boulevard where he proceeded on Khreshchatyk, Maidan Nezalezhnosti and Mykhailivska street. The head of the column, the marchers carried yellow-blue and red-and-black banners.

When the column came to Mykhailivska square, the marchers had lit a smoke bomb. He also had heard the explosions of firecrackers. The campaign ended on St. Michael’s square, where the concert will be held.

In Ukraine, 15 October will also mark the Day of defender of Ukraine.
