MOSCOW, Oct 8 — R-Sport. The world anti-doping Agency (WADA) will discuss the new program for the protection of whistleblowers at the Council of founders, which will take place on 20 November in Glasgow, reported on the organization’s website.
In August, the head of anti-doping agencies from 17 countries, including the USA, Germany and the UK, at the summit in Copenhagen has called for broad reform of the WADA against the background of recent doping scandals. The leaders of the anti-doping agencies also supported the calls for assistance in ensuring the safety of the informants WADA Russian runner Yulia Stepanova and her husband Vitaly, who also became the main characters of the film, the German TV channel ARD about doping in Russian sports.
It is reported that in addition to the new program’s whistleblower protection on the agenda of the meeting in Glasgow is the second part of the report of the independent Commission WADA under the leadership of Richard McLaren, the release is scheduled for the end of October, as well as a discussion of the organization’s budget for 2017.
