MOSCOW, October 6 — R-Sport. The President of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Philip Craven expressed confidence that the demand for the resignation of sports Minister Vitaly Mutko will not be among the conditions for the restoration of the membership of the Russian Paralympic Committee (RCC).
Russian athletes did not participate in the Paralympic games in Rio de Janeiro on the verdict of the IPC. Craven August 7 announced that the Committee had taken a unanimous decision to dismiss the Russian Paralympic Games in 2016 and the termination of membership of RCC. The Paralympic Committee of Russia appealed to the court of arbitration for Sport (CAS), which on 23 August rejected it. Later the press-Secretary of the IPC, Craig Spence reported that their organization is discussing with the RCC, the criteria for restoration of rights of the Russian Committee.
“I’m sure it (the resignation of the sports Minister) will not condition on the part of IPC, said Craven, quoted by AP. — We want to be sure that you are dealing with a team which compete clean athletes. We have a certain time limit. There are just certain factors that RCC must comply with”.
