SOCHI, 30 Sep — RIA Novosti/Prime. The Ministry of health opposes reducing the minimum retail prices for vodka and selling alcohol via the Internet, said the Minister Veronika Skvortsova.

“Because we have a main factor which determines the mortality rate of the working population is alcohol abuse in young men. And if we are all together on this issue we will pay attention and inter — Agency government Commission on alcohol regulation will be the level of consumption to reduce, we reserve twice to reduce mortality,” said Skvortsova told reporters.

Deputy economic development Minister Oleg Fomichev said earlier RIA Novosti that the Agency offers in 2017 to reduce the excise duty on spirits from 500 to 360 rubles, and the minimum value of 0.5 liters of vodka — from 190 to 136 rubles. Also, the authorities have been discussing the idea to allow the sale of alcohol via the Internet using credit cards.

According to Fomicheva, the reduction of excise duty is to combat the illegal trade of alcohol and improvement of our products.

Now for alcoholic beverages with a share of ethyl alcohol over 9% rate of excise tax is 500 rubles per liter, in 2017 is expected to be 523 rubles.

Earlier, Deputy Minister of Finance Ilya Trunin said that the excise duty on alcohol in Russia in 2018 or 2019 will rise to the level of inflation in 2017, indexation will be made as provided by the tax code.
