The government will discuss the agreement on cooperation in emergencies in the Caspian sea

MOSCOW, 29 Sep RIA Novosti. The government of Russia at session on Thursday will discuss the ratification of the agreement on cooperation in the field of prevention and liquidation of emergency situations in the Caspian sea, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers.

The agreement was signed in Astrakhan on 29 September 2014, the governments of Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenistan.

Its purpose is to resolve issues related to operational assistance in case of emergencies in the Caspian sea and its coastal zones.

“The agreement stipulates the forms of cooperation aimed at the prevention of emergency situations in the Caspian sea region, the procedure of providing mutual assistance in emergency situations in Caspian countries and assist in facilitating transit groups for assistance through their territory for liquidation of emergency situations”, stated in the message.
