BAKU, September 28 — RIA Novosti, Vugar Hasanov. Russia received documented information about the plans of international terrorists to expand their activities in the North Caucasus, said Wednesday the head of the Federal security service Alexander Bortnikov.
On Wednesday in Baku was opened the 41st session of the Council of heads of security bodies and special services (Sorb) of the States-participants of CIS.
“Recently we received documented information about the plans of the leaders of international terrorist organizations entrenched in the Middle East, to expand its terrorist activities in the North Caucasus region”, — quoted Bortnikov Agency APA.
According to him, terrorists use a wide range of tools, agents, liaison, satellite communications, and opportunities of the global Internet.
“Therefore, I believe that in the current environment to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of our cooperation should build a closer and multi-level cooperation, to act substantively and promptly, to seek new ways and continually improve mechanisms for the exchange of information of importance for the organization of search of terrorists,” he added.
