In Pskov 18 buildings were recognized as particularly valuable objects of cultural heritage

MOSCOW, 24 Sep — RIA Novosti. The government acknowledged the particularly valuable objects of cultural heritage of the peoples of Russia 18 architectural structures XII–XVII centuries, located in Pskov, the corresponding document posted on the website of the Cabinet on Saturday.

Among them there are samples of medieval architecture, as a complex of fortifications surrounding the city (XV-XVI century), Trinity Cathedral with a bell tower (XVII century), the Transfiguration Cathedral, Spaso-Mirozhsky monastery (XII century), the Cathedral of the Nativity of the virgin (XVI century), the Church of Archangel Michael with a bell tower (XIV century), Church of the Epiphany with a bell tower (1489), pogankin house (XVII century) and others. They all put on the state protection and included in the unified state register of objects of cultural heritage (monuments of history and culture) of the peoples of Russia, said the Cabinet.

Istoriko-cultural examination found that all the buildings are “preserved a sufficient degree of dominance genuine, not modified reconstructive interventions of planning decisions, the foundations of the spatial composition of the Pskov school of medieval architecture”.

“Signed by order, the decision on the recognition of particularly valuable objects of cultural heritage of the peoples of Russia 18 objects of cultural heritage of Federal importance 12-17 centuries, located in the city of Pskov. The decision… will ensure their submission to UNESCO for inclusion in the world heritage list”, — stated in the message of the government.
