U.S. Secretary of state John Kerry and crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Nayef discussed on Monday the situation in the middle East and the fight against grouping “Islamic state” (banned in Russia and several countries), according to the state Department.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in new York.
On the situation in Yemen, the parties discussed the attempts to renew the truce, which is necessary to reach a “comprehensive and sustainable peace agreement” between the authorities and insurgents-Shiites.
“They also discussed the situation in Syria, the Geneva accords and the need to intensify efforts in the fight against IG”, — stated in the message Department.
