Putin has appointed a new permanent representative to UNESCO

New permanent representative of Russia to UNESCO appointed diplomat Alexander Kuznetsov. The corresponding decree of President Vladimir Putin was published on the official Internet portal of legal information.

Earlier this position was occupied by Eleonora Mitrofanova. She was the permanent representative of Russia to UNESCO in Paris since 2009. In 2011-2012 Mitrofanov was also Chairman of the 36th session of the world heritage Committee of UNESCO.

Alexander Kuznetsov from 1974, he worked in various positions in the Central apparatus of the foreign Ministry. In 1995-2000 he was Deputy permanent representative of Russia to UNESCO in Paris.
