In Russia while it is impossible to reduce the length of the workday for productivity, said Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets, reports TASS.
She responded to this question in connection with reports that some companies in Sweden are cutting the working day from six to eight hours. Golodets said that “countries with high productivity can reduce the working week and the duration of the working day.”
“It’s a question of productivity in the first place […] unfortunately, we cannot yet take this step, although the balance of working time, the number of days of work and rest, we do not differ, and sometimes differ even for the better. We have a large number of weekends and holidays,” — said Deputy Prime Minister.
In August The Independent reported that some institutions, including hospitals and nursing homes, and other companies have cut jobs to increase productivity and make people happier.
