Gagarinsky court of Moscow refused to satisfy the petition of protection and return the case to the Prosecutor in relation to the participants “racing” the Mercedes-Benz Gelandewagen, the correspondent of “Interfax”.
“The court sees no reason to return the case to the Prosecutor. The court denies the motion,” announced the judge Olga Zeldin.
According to the Agency, one of the arguments of the petition of protection about the return of the case to the Prosecutor was the presence in the indictment of swear words. In turn, the judge noted that obscene words formed the basis of the charges under article “insult of representative of power”.
The first hearing on the merits scheduled for September 7. The son of the Vice-President of oil company LUKOIL Ruslan Shamsuarov and his friends Abduvahob madzhidov and Viktor Uskov accused under part 1 of article 318 (Threat of violence against a representative of authority in connection with the performance of their official duties”), article 319 (“Public insult of a representative of authority in the performance of their official duties”) and part 2 of article 35 of the criminal code (Offence committed in a group on preliminary arrangement”).
The defendants staged a “race” with the police in may 2016. They moved on Leninsky Prospekt, breaking traffic rules and not obeying the lawful demands of the police. The entry of the “chase” suspects was broadcast to the Periscope. The case received wide publicity.
