The human rights activist reported about the hunger strike of 100 migrants in Sochi

Over a hundred migrants on hunger strike in the temporary detention centre for foreigners in the village of Vartan in Sochi. This was stated by “Mediazone”, the representative of “southern human rights center” Semyon Simonov.

According to him, migrants complain of delay in the deportation centre, which arose from the translation of the Federal migration service of the interior Ministry. They also complained about problems with the food and stated that they refused to treat bedbugs.

The hunger strike may escalate into a riot,” added Simonov radio “Echo of Moscow”. This will occur if law enforcement agencies failed to resolve the problems of migrant workers, said Simonov.

Detention center for migrants was opened in Sochi in autumn 2013. In July, the centre in protest sewed his mouth a citizen of Georgia. He protested against the decision to expel him to his homeland, said TASS in law enforcement bodies of Krasnodar territory.
