British athlete died while trying to cross the English channel

The British athlete Nick Thomas, died during a swim across the English channel, informs Bi-bi-si with reference to the organization of the Enduroman Events that followed the success of the athlete.

Thomas began his swim from Dover British 27 Aug. Later, 16 hours after the start, he began to experience difficulties and lost consciousness. Rescuers pulled him from the water ten miles from the French Calais. Thomas was taken to hospital but failed to save.

In a statement, the French foreign Ministry said that Paris is ready to assist the family of the deceased Briton.

Bi-bi-si writes that Thomas managed to cross the English channel in 2014. The length of the Strait is 540 km.
