Photographer Dmitry Muravsky, who held the position of Advisor to the Minister of defence of Ukraine on a voluntary basis, dismissed the scandal surrounding photographs of the area of the ATO. This is stated in the message on the website of the Ministry of defense of Ukraine.
“All the pictures, around which there is an outcry made by the author before the official appointment in the Ministry of defence and made them personal discretion. The defense Department identified these photos as pictures of actual combat, but never reported it officially mentioned by the author. In the Ministry of defence for comments nobody addressed” — said the Agency.
Last week Murawski published pictures from the Donbass, including the Truce in a statement,” which the Network called “the best picture about the war in Ukraine in 2016”. Later, however, colleagues of the photographer and the combatants found that these photographs are not documentary.
Later, answering questions of users of Facebook, Murawski wrote, referring to the journalist Anastasia Bereza: “If bright and staged photo is not to your liking, you can look at my album of 2014, where almost all the hot spots Aug 2014 in BW. Ilovaysk, Krasnogorovka, Sands and other”.
Regarding the dismissal of Muravsky from the post of adviser on Sunday spoke and the head of the defense Ministry of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak. “I believe that I have the right to fire assigned me advisors if their personal statements damaging the reputation of the Ministry of defence and the Armed Forces”, — the Minister wrote on his page in Facebook.
Murawski has served as an Advisor to the Minister of defence on a voluntary basis from 16 June 2016.
