Medvedev urged to develop online education in Russia

The Chairman of the government Dmitry Medvedev called for the development of Russia’s digital educational environment and networking of educational resources to be embedded into University curricula. He stated this at a meeting of the Presidium of the Council for strategic development and priority projects on the development of education, reports “RIA Novosti”.

According to him, now “there are no guarantees that the information that is in the Network, is reliable and safe.” “There is a real shortage of quality educational content. So you need to create special resources that can be tested by experts and built into a University program,” — said Medvedev.

Such resources already exist, but very few of them, added the Prime Minister. In his opinion, the most difficult in realization of this task is to combine online courses with existing educational programs and to determine how to check the adequacy of the thus obtained knowledge.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister has outlined four priority areas for the development of education in Russia. In addition to the digital learning environment is modern equipment in schools, qualified professionals, and universities as centers of innovation.
