Court of arbitration for sport upheld the appeal of Darya Kishineu

Court of arbitration for sport (CAS) allowed the appeal of the Russian pryguny in length Daria Kishineu on prohibition to participate in the Olympic games in Rio de Janeiro, Reuters reports.

“Today, the parties were informed that the situation remains in force and the athlete remains eligible to participate in the Olympic games in Rio”, stated in the message of the CAS.

Klishina was the only Russian athlete approved by the International Association of athletics federations (IAAF) before the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, since the end of 2013 he lives and trains in the United States.

Saturday, 13 August, the IAAF said Klishina excluded from participation in the summer Games of 2016 on the basis of new information received last week. The athlete appealed this decision to the CAS, which concluded its consideration of her case on Sunday.

Earlier, the representative of the IOC mark Adams said that, if Klishina wins the case in CAS, it will need to pass all three stages of admission to the Olympics, as well as other Russian athletes.

Russian athletes were suspended from participation in the Olympic games in 2016 because of the disqualification of the national athletics Federation.
