The Olympics ‘ organizing Committee explained the green color of the water in the pool for jumping

The water in the Olympic pool in Rio changed its colour from the usual blue to green due to the decrease in the level of alkali in it, told reporters the Director of communications of the organizing Committee of the Olympic games in Rio, Mario Andrada, says The Wall Street Journal.

“Yesterday mid-day there was a sharp decrease in the level of alkali in the pool. Of course, the people responsible for the upkeep of the swimming pool and the checks were more thorough tests,” he said.

He added that soon the situation should return to normal “very soon.”

That the water in the Olympic pool changed color, were reported by many international and Russian media on August 10.

The international swimming Federation (FINA) has assured that the water does not provide a hazard for athletes.
