The head of the CIA questioned the ability to preserve the integrity of Syria

The Director of the Central intelligence Agency (CIA) John Brennan said the lack of certainty about the capabilities of Syria to regain its unity. He said this at a security forum in Colorado, reports Reuters.

“I don’t know whether it will be possible again to unite Syria,” – said the head of intelligence.

He also noted that the conflict in Syria will not stop until the country is led by President Bashar al-Assad. Russia, according to Brennan, while continuing to pursue their interests and is committed to preserving the Assad government.

Earlier, the Minister of defence of Russia Sergey Shoigu told about the instructions of President Vladimir Putin to develop, together with the Syrian authorities, a large-scale humanitarian operation in Aleppo.
