Moscow reported seven cases of violations by rebel ceasefire in Syria

During the day, the ceasefire in Syria seven times violated by armed groups claiming to be opposition, mentioned in the newsletter of the center for conciliation of the warring parties in Syria, published on the website of the Ministry of defense of Russia.

According to authorities, four settlements in the province of Damascus was shelled with mortars by the opposition group “Jaish al-Islam”. In Latakia the armed forces of the groups of “Ahrar Al-sham and the “free Syrian army” fired at the settlement of Bruma, twice shelled the settlement of the Tauma.

In April 2016, Russia tried to achieve making “Ahrar al-sham and Jaish al-Islam in the list of terrorist organizations, but the initiative in the UN was blocked by the UK, USA, France and Ukraine. The inclusion of these groups in the sanctions list would put them out of action of the ceasefire in Syria, which entered into force on 27 February 2016.

July 28, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad signed a decree of Amnesty for all militants who lay down arms and release the hostages. According to the document, those who have fled from punishment, may on its own initiative to surrender to the authorities within three months from the date of publication of the decree.
