Microsoft has increased in two times the number of employees that will be cut, and fired 2850 people. Bloomberg calls these layoffs are part of CEO Satya Nadella on the revision of the ambitions of the company for the development of the telephone business.
In may, Microsoft announced the dismissal of 1,850 employees primarily related to the production and sale of smartphones. Thus, the plan for the dismissal of employees has increased more than two times.
Bloomberg connects such actions of Microsoft in an attempt to reduce losses from the purchase of telephone business of Nokia for $9.4 billion in 2014. Phones with the operating system (OS) of Windows is less than 1% of the global smartphone market in the first quarter of 2016 compared to 84%, which is controlled by phones with Android OS, and 15% with an OS from Apple, says Bloomberg, citing data from Gartner Inc.
This is not the first reduction of employees phone business to Microsoft. So, in July of 2015, Microsoft has cut 7,800 jobs. They are referred to units that are engaged in the production of mobile phones.
