In relation to earlier detained the Imam of the Moscow mosque Mahmoud Valitova a criminal case under part 1 of article 205.2 of the criminal code (public justification of terrorism). This was reported on the website of the TFR. According to investigators, in September 2013 Velitov, occupying the post of Chairman of the Board and as an Imam, a religious organization, in conducting prayers in the mosque on the street Khachaturian in Moscow, began to publicly justify the activity of one of the members of the terrorist group Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami” (banned in Russia).
The investigators conducted a psycho-linguistic forensic examination of the question Valitova, the results of which showed signs of justifying terrorism.
The TFR notes that at the moment, the investigation seeks to court about election of a measure of restraint in the form of house arrest for Valitova. At the moment the investigators continue the investigation of this criminal case.
On 12 July about the arrest Valitova reported “Interfax” citing a source in law enforcement bodies. The Imam was taken to the investigator on suspicion of involvement in terrorist activities. Investigators, according to the source TASS, also searched the residence Valitova and mosque “Yardyam”. During the searches investigators seized religious literature, thumb drives and financial records.
