The President of Russia Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel and President of France Francois Hollande, during which had “expressed concern about increasingly frequent violations of the ceasefire regime in the Donbas”, says the press service of the Kremlin.
“Vladimir Putin drew attention to the provocative actions of the Ukrainian troops in the Southeast. In this regard, the Russian President called on the sides to more actively influence on the Ukrainian side, including the forthcoming contacts with Petro Poroshenko in Warsaw, to ensure clear implementation of the Minsk agreements”, — stated in the message.
Priorities as stated in the Kremlin, Putin, Merkel and Hollande think “prevent further degradation of the situation in the conflict zone” and relatiely of the Minsk agreements, including on the part of “heavy weapons withdrawal and mutual withdrawal forces from the contact line”. The heads of state agreed to continue consultations on Ukrainian issues at various levels.
About the deteriorating situation in the conflict zone in the Donbass, Moscow and Kiev said in the last days. On Friday, the speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy suggested that in the near future in the Donbass will start the hostilities. “According to my information, there is a great risk that in the next few months, may activate enemy in two directions. This is due to the fact that the US elections are held, as well as with the crisis points in Europe. And the Kremlin is planned for this period intensified actions in Ukraine. On the front is a military attack, and inside the country — attempts at destabilization,” — said paruby.
In Moscow, in turn, also expressed concerns about the possible intensification of hostilities. The Russian foreign Ministry on Wednesday, July 6, said that Kiev can prepare for a new military operation in the Donbass. The foreign Ministry expressed concern about “the increasing military activity of the armed forces of Ukraine and volunteer battalions on the line of contact in Donbas.
