The number of victims of a double bombing in Baghdad rose to 80 people

The number of victims of a double bombing in Baghdad has risen to 80 people. It is reported by CNN, citing Iraqi officials.

The first explosion occurred on a bustling shopping street in the Central karrada district. Killing 79 people, and another 133 were injured. The second bomb exploded at an outdoor market in the Shaab district in the South-East of Baghdad, killing one and wounding five.

Responsibility for the attack took over the group “Islamic state” (banned in Russia). The militants said that the aim of their attacks are Shiite areas, which include karrada and Shaab.

These attacks were not the first committed by ISIS in the Iraqi capital. In may in Baghdad a series of car bombings. May 11 killed at least 90 people. The next day,two suicide bombers attacked a police station in Baghdad, killing three officers.
