The former mayor of Moscow Yuri Luzhkov became a Trustee of the candidate from the Communist party, Admiral and former black sea fleet commander Vladimir Komoyedov. About it “Interfax” said a source in the party.
Komoyedov tops the list of the Communist party of the Crimea, Sevastopol and Kaliningrad region. Source TASS in the Duma Committee of defence confirmed this information.
Yuri Luzhkov confirmed his desire to become a Trustee, said in a letter to the former mayor, reports TASS. “You have permission to use my statements, photographs, archival films and other works with my participation, including books for pre-election campaign”, — quotes Agency the words of Luzhkov.
Komoedov has sent letters to the Governor of Sevastopol Sergei Menyailo and acting Chairman of city legislative Assembly Ekaterina Altybaeva. He drew attention to the fact that the merits of Luzhkov in front of the Crimean and Sevastopol is still not fully appreciated”.
According to a source “RIA Novosti”, Komoedov Luzhkov called the “principal conductor of the idea of the return of Sevastopol and Crimea to Russia” and was asked to assign the title of “Honorary citizen of the city of Sevastopol”. The source also recalled that in 2002, Luzhkov was awarded the state prize of Russia in science and technology “For the comprehensive programme of creation of social objects in Moscow and Sevastopol.”
The Federal list of Communists in the upcoming elections to the state Duma will be headed by party leader Gennady Zyuganov. The election lists of the Communist party adopted at an election Congress on Saturday, June 25.
In the Federal list also included acting Deputy Vladimir Kashin, Dmitry Novikov, Ivan Melnikov, as well as female cosmonaut Svetlana Savitskaya and Nobel prize winner Zhores Alferov.
