The head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov expressed hope that Turkey will compensate the damage to Russia over the shot down in November, su-24 and Privet to justice those responsible for the incident. About this he wrote in his Instagram.
“We hope that the Turkish side implements the announced intention about the readiness to solve the problem of reparations, and prosecute the perpetrators,” he wrote.
“I am convinced that Russia never had a goal unjustly to break off relations with Turkey. The blame for the incident lay fully on the Turkish side. Confession is the first step towards reviving bilateral ties to normal,” said the Chechen leader.
On 27 June it became known that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the letter to the head of Russia Vladimir Putin expressed regret over the destruction of the Turkish military near the Syrian-Turkish border Russian su-24 bomber and apologized to the family of the deceased pilot.
Later, the Turkish authorities have resumed the criminal prosecution of Alp Arslan Celik, who is suspected of involvement in the murder of su-24 pilot Oleg Peshkov. A few hours before Alparslan çelik, who fought on the side supported by Turkey and Turkomans against the government troops of Syria, was released from prison with the prohibition of leaving the country.
In may this year a Turkish Prosecutor decided that the police have no sufficient grounds for initiating criminal proceedings against Celik upon the death of Peshkov. The suspect during interrogation said that he, however, urged his subordinates to take the Russian prisoners and to stop shooting at him when the latter is ejected from the downed bomber.
