Intel is considering selling the Department of cyber security, Intel Security formerly known as McAfee. Reported by the Financial Times, citing informed sources.
McAfee was bought by a Corporation about six years ago for $7.7 billion, the newspaper reminds. After that, the company was renamed as Intel Security, but some products are still produced under the McAfee brand.
The deal, if it happens, will be one of the largest in the industry, said the source publication. Intel, according to them, has already started negotiations with the banks, but the FT refused to comment on this information.
The newspaper writes that Apple’s business restructuring after was seen a trend of declining sales of personal computers. In this regard, the company in April announced a reduction of 12 thousand jobs. The company said that the reduction will be gradual and will end by mid-2017. According to the estimates of the Corporation, the restructuring will require approximately $1.2 billion in the second quarter of 2016.
