The President-Chairman of VTB Andrey Kostin thanked the head of Sberbank German Gref that that has advised minority shareholders, dissatisfied with the return on investment, to invest in VTB, Interfax reports.
“I am grateful to Mr. Gref that he acted as an agitator. We are happy if the shareholders of the savings Bank will be our shareholders,” said Kostin.
He also urged shareholders not to leave VTB and promised not to disappoint them and try to do better.”
May 27 during the annual meeting of shareholders of Sberbank Gref advised the shareholders of Russia’s largest Bank to sell their shares and invest in other banks or companies if they are dissatisfied with the payment of dividends.
“We do not keep in the savings Bank by force. Therefore, all who love our results — stay tuned, who does not like the market open, sell their shares and move on to other companies,” — said Gref (quoted by “RIA Novosti”).
“If someone believes that we have little profit, well, buy the shares of VTB or any other Bank, please,” he added.
