Belgian police have detained six people in the case of the attack on the train from Amsterdam to Paris in August last year. About it reports Reuters, citing a statement the Prosecutor’s office.
The court will decide about their possible incarceration later on Monday, said in a statement.
The Prosecutor noted that the court issued a warrant for searches of six houses in the neighborhood of Brussels, however, they found no weapons or explosives.
The attack in the high-speed Thalys train, EN route from Amsterdam to Paris via Brussels, took place on 21 August 2015. The attacker opened in the train fire from automatic weapons, injuring three people. The attacker managed to neutralize the passengers, among whom were, in particular, two American soldiers: one of them received a gunshot wound, the second stab. According to police, the gunman was a 26-year-old Moroccan Ayoub al-Kassani. Shooting in the train, the Belgian authorities recognized the attack.
