Russian tennis player Maria Sharapova plans to appeal the decision of the International tennis Federation (ITF) on its disqualification for two years. She announced this on his page in Facebook.
“I’m immediately going to appeal this decision to the court of arbitration for Sport (CAS)”, — she wrote.
In its report, the athlete stressed that an independent Tribunal found that she had taken an illegal drug inadvertently. ITF “spent huge amount of time” to prove that “I deliberately broke anti-doping rules,” added tenisistka. Including the Federation asked the court to disqualify Sharapova for four years, but “the court rejected the position of the ITF,” said Sharapova.
“I intend to stand up for what they think is right. That is why I will fight for the maximum early return on the tennis court”, — stated in the message Maria Sharapova.
