Poroshenko created the national cyber security centre

President Petro Poroshenko has signed the decree about creation of National coordination centre for cyber security. This was reported on the website of the head of the state Treasury

“The activities of the Centre will allow to provide coordination of activity of subjects of national security and defense of Ukraine during the implementation of the Strategy of cyber security of Ukraine, to improve the efficiency of public administration in the formation and implementation of state policy in the sphere of cyber security”, stated in the message.

The center will be part of the national security Council and defence of Ukraine (NSDC), its leader will be the Secretary of the Council Oleksandr Turchynov. The center will be comprised of Deputy Minister of defence, chief of staff, Chairman of the national security Council, foreign intelligence Service, Chairman of the National police, national Bank and etc.

The tasks of the new authority including will include analysis of the state of cybersecurity preparedness for countering cyber threats.

In March 2016 Poroshenko enacted the cyber security strategy of Ukraine. It speaks of a “broad presence” in the information infrastructure of the country organizations and individuals directly or indirectly associated with Russia. Strategy including the creation aimed at the development of cyberspace state policies that would be compatible with the relevant standards of the European Union and NATO.
