German football player Roman Neustadter received a passport of a citizen of Russia. About it reports “Interfax” with reference to the press service of the Russian football Union (RFU).
“Immediately after the evening classes (Sunday) national team (Russia) left Roman Neustädter: he went to get a passport”, — stated in the message.
May 25, Russian President Vladimir Putin has granted Russian citizenship to football player. The day before that athlete will become a citizen of Russia, TASS news Agency said the Director of the German club “Schalke’s public relations Thomas Spiegel. “I can now confirm that Roman Neustädter will actually receive Russian citizenship and will play for the national team of Russia”, — he said.
Earlier 28-year-old Roman Neustädter played for the club “Schalke”, “Mainz” and “mönchengladbach”. He was not the first athlete for the last time, receiving Russian citizenship.
In September 2015, the Russian citizenship was received by boxer Roy Jones Jr., and in January 2016 — the head coach of Russian national team on judo Ezio Gamba.
