This was announced by Deputy Secretary of Russian security Council Yevgeny Lukyanov, Interfax reported.
“According to our calculations, at the beginning of our operations “Dzhebhat an-Nusra and ISIS had about 80 thousand soldiers. 28 thousand have been destroyed. It is our actions and the Syrian army,” — said Lukyanov told reporters.

Lukyanov stressed that the military operation in Syria will be protracted. “Some predicted that this will be a new Afghanistan and something else. This will never happen. It’s targeted limited military plan,” he said.
