Bi-bi-si will close the site with 11 thousand recipes for the sake of saving

The British broadcasting Corporation bi-Bi-si will close the website dedicated to cooking BBC Food website, which collected more than 11 thousand recipes of preparation of dishes. This decision is reported on the website of the Corporation.

The closure of the culinary website is related to the overall program of cost cutting designed to save 15 million pounds. The report said also that all the recipes from the TV programmes will be available online for 30 days. At the same time a commercial site BBC Good Food close is not planned, it will continue its work.

On the website already registered the petition with the requirement to cancel the decision to close the site with recipes. As of 15:30 on 17 may 2016 it was signed by almost 60 thousand people.

On may 12 the Minister of culture, media and sport of UK John Whittingdale submitted to Parliament a plan of reform activities and management of Bi-bi-si. This plan abolishes the so-called BBC Trust, who oversaw the activities of the Corporation, the oversight of its activities entrusted to the organization Ofcom (Office of Communications).

It will also develop a new Charter (the Charter) bi-Bi-si under which the Corporation will have a single Board of Directors instead of the Board of Trustees, who are now appointed by the Queen of great Britain, on the proposal of the government. In the Corporation this reform called the most important in its history.
