Labor Minister spoke about the lack of poor pensioners in Russia

In Russia there are poor pensioners, the structure of poverty is mainly the public sector working poor and families with children. About this at a plenary meeting of the Public chamber of Russia said labor Minister Maxim Topilin, reports TASS.

“Seniors, as you know, we have no poor. From the point of view of formal evidence,” he said, explaining that all pensioners receive additional payments to the subsistence level. But, according to the Minister, if the family pensioner has three children, the situation is changing.

“Therefore, we believe that it is necessary not to increase benefits and do not create new, and to move towards what is possible and a normal increase in the minimum wage to the subsistence minimum”, — he said. Topilin added that the government expects to enact the necessary laws are already in the fall of 2016.

At the end of March, Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets said that the income and wages of Russians fell sharply. According to Rosstat, by the end of 2015 the number of Russians whose incomes are below the subsistence level has reached 19.2 million people, or 13.4% of the total population of Russia. For the first three months of 2016, according to the Ministry, the real incomes of Russians decreased by 3.9%.
